Non-Union Audition

ACT1 Theater announces auditions for our holiday production:
Dickens Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts
Auditions: Monday, August 21st starting at 7:00 pm or Tuesday, August 22nd starting at 7:00 pm, audition slots by appointment only: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080c4da4aa29a3f49-audition1

Callback auditions will be on Thursday, August 24th at 7:00 pm.
AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS
We’ll have you sign in and fill out an audition form to tell us about yourself. Don’t worry if you’ve never done this before – experience is not required. If you have a headshot, bring it along. If not, we’ll take a picture to help us remember who’s who after you’re gone. If an auditioner is under the age of 18, they must have a parent present and have that parent sign minor participation forms.
We also understand that rehearsals may overlap with the end of current productions for some actors. We ask that you provide us with details of conflicts and impacts at your audition.
Everyone auditioning will check in and report to one room, and fill out forms – though we suggest that you fill in those forms in advance. You will be called in appointment order to perform a one-minute prepared comedic monologue and cold reading for the Director and Stage Manager in a separate room. If you are called back for the Thursday callbacks, you’ll be asked to read scenes from the play with other auditioners. The Director and Stage Manager will run the auditions. We’re all friendly and promise that it won’t be intimidating! You may be asked to read a part that you’re obviously not suited for, or that you have no interest in. It doesn’t mean you’re being considered for that part but rather helps us gauge your flexibility and range.
No parts are pre-cast, and everyone who gets a part will have auditioned at one of the 2 originally scheduled times, unless special arrangements are made in advance.
If invited back for the callbacks on August 24th, 2 PM – 5 PM, you will be reading with other actors from the script.

SHOW DESCRIPTION
From the author of the popular Faith County and An Evening of Culture - Faith County II comes a completely different adaptation of the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. From the bonny shores of England comes the Styckes-Upon-Thump Repertory Theatre Company, a stuffy old travelling troupe embarking on their fifteenth annual farewell tour of the Dickens\' tale. The company includes Sir Selsdon Piddock, the consummate actor, in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, with Mrs. Bettina Salisbury, Dame Rowena Middleton-Lewis, Mrs. Cordelia ffoliet-ffolkes ffortescue Woods, Teddy Shub and Elyot Crummels in multiple supporting roles. Sweet Cynthia Imbry, the general understudy, suddenly finds herself thrust onstage to perform a role she\'s ill-prepared for! Bettina, the company diva, pretends to be ill, certain the production will be cancelled. However, much to her shock and rage, the show does go on without her! Roles are shuffled at the last minute and poor Cynthia finds herself center stage. The play begins but mid-way through the theatre doors open and in rushes Bettina, determined to reclaim her roles. Mayhem ensues as this professional company scrambles to keep the show going and everything that could possibly go wrong does, to hilarious, ridiculous results!
