Froggy Went A’ Courtin’
Directed by Wally & Jeannie Hinds

Froggy Went A’ Courtin’ is a children’s musical melodrama based on the old Mother Goose story and song. Froggy must save his beloved, Miss Mousie, from that dastardly villain, Tom the Cat and his two evil henchmen, Bad Blood Bonnie and Retched Rachael. Our beautiful young heroine, Miss Mousie, has been forced to accept a marriage proposal by Tom in order to save her Grannie Rat. It is up to Froggy and his friends in Froggy Bottom, to stop the marriage and save Grannie before it is too late. Come cheer the hero and heroine and boo and hiss the villain in this fun for the whole family show.

Audition Dates:

Monday, April 30 at 7pm & Tuesday, May 1 at 7pm
at The Hangar 651 Arnold Mill Rd., Woodstock, Ga. 30188

Casting Needs:

At least 12 people — ages 8-ish thru adult

Characters List:

Froggy (a real Southern Gentleman) – ideally high school/college age range
Miss Mousie (a real Southern Belle) – – ideally high school/college age range
Tom the Cat (a villain in every sense of the word)
The two evil Weasels:
Bad Blood Bonnie or Brady (Tom’s evil henchman, a villainous weasel)
Retched Rachel or Richard (Tom’s evil henchman, a villainous weasel)
Tadpole (Froggie’s nephew or niece)
Grannie Rat
Parson Rook

Various bugs including:
Bumble Bee
White Moth
Butterfly
Lady Bug
June Bug
Flea

Audition Requirements:

Cold readings from the script. Please be prepared to sing 16 bars from the song of your choice.

Please bring CD or music on your phone. All the music from the show is from the 1890’s, Victorian Period.

Examples: Hello My Baby, Daisy, Home Sweet Home

Performance Dates:

Friday, July 13th at 7pm
Saturday, July 14th at 11am & 3pm
Sunday, July 15th at 3pm
*All Performances will take place at the Historic Downtown Canton Theatre*
